Amazon EC2のインスタンスに新しい選択肢が増えたみたい

従来、Amazon EC2では選択できるインスタンスは、割り当てられるマシンリソースに応じて3種類の選択肢があったのですが、今回新たに2種類増えた模様。

Amazon EC2 users now have access to a pair of new "High-CPU" instance types. The new instance types have proportionally more CPU power than memory, and are suitable for CPU-intensive applications.

簡単に以下に表形式でまとめておきます。
今回、追加されたのは下2つの「High-CPU Instances」で、CPUパワーに重みをおいたインスタンスとなっています。

ちなみに上記スペック表で使われている"EC2 Compute Unit (ECU)"とは、以下の通り。

OpteronもしくはXeonの1.0〜1.2GHzクラスに相当するってことか。

何はともあれ、インスタンスの選択肢が増えるのは、リソースの割り当ての幅が広がりますから良いですね。
